ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER 'STUDENT OF THE MONTH' WINNERS
-- Outstanding Hart District Student Awarded--

BURBANK, CALIFORNIA, September 12, 2005 — Lockheed Federal Credit Union (LFCU) announced today the winner of their "Student of the Month" program for the month of September. Saugus High School senior Ari Berlin was chosen by his principal for his outstanding achievement in academics and citizenship.

Ari Berlin is number one in his senior class of 667 students. He participated in the California Summer School for Mathematics in Science for years 2004 and 2005 and has been offered a research position for 2006. He has played Varsity Tennis for four years and has been captain of the team for two years. He has won all-school academic awards in mathematics, English and Social Studies multiple times. He is an intern in the Department of Planetary Science at Cal Tech, a mentor and a peer tutor. He is described by Principal Bill Bolde as, "One of the most promising young men you’ll ever get a chance to meet."

LFCU’s "Student of the Month" program, newly launched within the William S. Hart School District, recognizes one student each month throughout the academic year from each high school. Winning high school students receive a cash award of $250. The student’s school receives $250 cash. LFCU has a similar program within the district recognizing outstanding athletes during the football, basketball and baseball seasons.
