Big Opportunity for Small Businesses

Lockheed Federal Credit Union Offers SBA Loans

Burbank, Calif. (July 18, 2007) – Lockheed Federal Credit Union (LFCU), one of the largest credit unions in the nation, announced today its Small Business Administration (SBA) loan program. Now, small businesses in the communities LFCU serves can take advantage of this program. LFCU delivers preferred pricing and lower rates with its SBA loans.

The SBA loan program offered through LFCU provides attractive financing to assist small to mid-sized businesses. SBA loans are available for most business purposes or expansion needs. Repayment terms are generally longer than conventional loan programs, which can have a positive impact on a company’s cash flow. An SBA loan is a business loan issued by a credit union, or other financial institution, with a portion of it guaranteed by the federal government (Small Business Administration) against payment default.

“Our members know that we are committed to outstanding service,” said Ray Dimaya, Director of SBA Lending at LFCU. “With our Small Business Administration loan program, LFCU now offers enhanced overall value with both personal and business accounts. Members can transact all of their financial business here.”

LFCU’s first SBA loan was funded in January 2007, with several following. Those businesses include a restaurant, dry cleaning service, clothing design manufacturer, contractor, wholesale business, law and medical professional offices.

For small business owners, there are several advantages of an SBA loan:

  • Up to 90% financing
  • Longer payment terms - up to 25 years for real estate acquisitions
  • Fully amortized loans - no balloon payments
  • Competitive interest rates
  • Projected income considerations
  • SBAEXPRESS Term Loans or Revolving Lines of Credit

“From the moment I started working with LFCU, their staff worked to meet my business needs,” said Liana Shkhyan, owner of Gourmet Depot in Sun Valley. “Because of (LFCU’s) great service and rates, it was an easy choice to make. Knowing that my finances are in order gives me additional confidence to build my business.”

Lockheed Federal Credit Union’s program adheres to U.S. Small Business Administration regulations. Non-members can apply for SBA loans with LFCU. However, membership is required for loan approval.
