Burbank, CA (March 1, 2006) - With the Oscars right around the corner, Lockheed Federal Credit Union (LFCU) announced that today through April 15, 2006, members and the community can help Take a Soldier to the Movies.

Take a Soldier to the Movies is a national program founded by the parents of a soldier serving overseas. The program sends soldiers a package which contains the making of a great night out at the movies: a DVD, drink, candy and popcorn. These reminders of home give soldiers a feeling of comfort and normalcy.

"We invite the community to bring in a new or used DVD to any LFCU branch, or donate money to have one purchased in your name," said Dave Styler, LFCU President and CEO. "LFCU is committed to supporting programs that enhance the well-being of American soldiers. We successfully partnered with Operation Uplink in 2005 to provide pre-paid calling cards to soldiers serving all around the world and felt that this is the perfect time to partner with Take a Soldier to the Movies. Hollywood is abuzz with Oscar fever and many soldiers will have an opportunity to view some of the nominated films due to the success of the national program."

From March 1st through April 15th, LFCU will accept DVDs and cash donations at branches throughout Southern California and Nashua, NH.
